Bury Town controlled most of the first half and were soon in front on 14 minutes with Ryan Jolland collecting a half clearance on the edge of the box and hitting a low driven strike through a crowded box and in to the back of the net.
Taylor Hastings added a second for Bury on 22 minutes with a sweet strike from out wide that went back across goal and in off the inside of the far post. On 30 minutes Max Maughn set up Cemal Ramadan who was in on goal in the box but for a well-timed challenge from Ben Brookes. Martin Tuohy created a chance for Gr Wakering on 31 minutes with a turn and strike which Bury Keeper Sam Blair did well to save. At the other end Ryan Jolland played a beautiful through ball to Cemal Ramadan who had just the keeper to beat but Tim Brown made an excellent save. Gr Wakering had an opportunity on 36 minutes when Martin Tuohy played the ball inside to Billy Harris, but he shot well wide of the target. On 41 minutes Bury were on the attack again with Max Maughn playing a great through ball in to the box for Ryan Jolland who collected the ball well, but Jolland could only pull his shot wide of the far post. An injury time free kick for Gr Wakering in a good position went close but was put wide of the post by Jack Glenister.

After the break it was a completely different game with Gr Wakering now taking control of most of the half. On 56 minutes Martin Tuohy found Nathan Fuma in acres of space on wing and he went on in to the Bury box to hit the far top corner with a superb strike. From the restart Gr Wakering won the ball and went on the attack again. Billy Harris finding space to shoot from close range but a good save from Sam Blair denied Gr Wakering the equalizer. Jake Chambers Shaw got forward for Bury on 66 minutes and got to the edge of the box, but his low shot was saved by Tim Brown. On 79 minutes Ross Crane had a great chance for Bury but his strike was again saved well by Brown. Sonny Dutton came off the bench for Gr Wakering to score and level things up on 82 minutes with another well taken goal. On 86 minutes Ryan Jolland broke through the defence and had just the keeper to beat but another good save from Brown ended the attack. On 90 minutes Gr Wakering had a chance to score with Billy Johnson blasting the ball high over the bar from close range as a solid defensive challenge from Carlos Edwards proved vital for Bury. Ross Crane worked the ball into the box from out wide but hit the bar for Bury in injury time.
