Blues get off to a good start but end up beaten in latest friendly

Bury Town started on the front foot against Needham Market but despite taking the lead against the higher league opponents, the Blues ended up on the end of a 4-2 defeat on Friday evening.

The Blues had the better of the opening period and took the lead after 30 minutes after good work from Ross Crane set up Cemal Ramadan who tuned on the byline and squeezed a shot into the net off the far post from the tightest of angles.

The lead did not last long however when Joe Neal tapped in from close range 3 minutes later and 5 minutes before the break Matt Foy hit a sweet shot into the net after Bury had failed to clear the ball on the edge of their own box.

Bury gave away another goal just before the break when a stray pass across the face of goal was intercepted by Neal who was left with the most simple of tasks to tap the ball past Daniel Barden in the home goal to give Needham a clear advantage at the break.

After the interval Joe Marsden curled a shot into the net for the best strike of the game, but despite the 1-4 scoreline Bury were still in the game with plenty of possession in the Needham half but it took until the last minute for Cruise Nydazayo to fire in his second goal of pre-season.
