Former St Ives Town midfielder joins Ben Chenry's side for new season

Bury Town are pleased to welcome our first new signing to add to our existing squad ahead of the 2020-21 season.

Ollie Snaith has joined the Blues from St Ives Town in the Southern League Central Premier Division, where the midfielder has been a regular in the step 3 side for the past couple of seasons.

Ollie started with Newmarket Town’s youth set up making his first team debut at 16 and going on to make over 100 appearances for the Jockeys and winning their player of the year award in 2015-16. He joined Needham Market in 2016 before joining Cambridge City.
At the end of 2017 he joined St Ives and has been part of their side for the past two and a half seasons. He scored five goals during his first season and added another four in the 2018-19 season. He made 28 appearances for the Saints in the aborted 2019-20 season, but has now opted to join the Blues in the Isthmian League for the forthcoming 2020-21 season.

Manager Ben Chenery had to say the following about his new signing “I am delighted to have secured the services of Ollie. He will bring energy and goals and complement our existing midfield. I am sure he will be another fans favourite and I can't wait to start working with him”

Ben has also confirmed that Joe Carden will be departing the club and will not feature for the Blues this season. He joined from Soham Town Rangers but his appearances have been very limited after suffering a serious injury at Aveley in early 2019.

Ben continued “Unfortunately Joe has decided to leave the club. Joe suffered a serious injury not long after joining us and worked extremely hard to get fit, just before the season was brought to an abrupt end. I thank him for his commitment and attitude during his time with us and I wish him well with his future endeavours”
