Lincoln United defeated 3-1 by Town in FA Trophy Extra Preliminary Round

Bury Town progressed to the next round of the FA Trophy after overcoming a tricky looking tie at Lincoln United to set up a much more local match with Soham Town Rangers in two weeks time.

Despite a long trip to Lincolnshire, the Blues were out of the blocks early and ahead after 3 minutes when Cemal Ramadan tapped home. There was just 24 minutes on the clock when Ollie Hughes made it 2-0 from close range.

Lincoln pulled a goal back and got themselves back into the tie when a deflected shot from distance lopped over Dan Barden and into the net. Lincoln then created chances but the teams went into level.

Bury managed to control the second half and stopped Lincoln from pressing forward and finding a way back into the game, and the killer third goal came in the 81st minute from Jarid Robson (pictured above) who drove a loose ball home through a crowded penalty area to send the travelling supporters home happy and into the next round.
