Bury Town made it two wins in a row as they continue to climb away from the foot of the table.
Bury Town put in a tremendous performance as they took on high flying Halesowen Town. Bury took an early lead on 7 minutes when Goerge Quantrell sent the ball out to the wing for Mikey Davis and his cross into the box was perfect for Ollie Canfer to head home. However, the lead did not last long, on 13 minutes a mistake at the Back from Bury let in Fin Holmes who reacted quickly to the gift, and with just the keeper to beat he fired Halesowen level with a good finish. Bury were undeterred and kept their composure well. On 16 minutes Halesowen had a good chance when Jak Hickman put a free kick into the box for Milan Butterfield, and his header went just wide. On 19 minutes George Quantrell’s shot was turned around the post by a good save from Daniel Platt. On 32 minutes George Quantrell regained the lead for Bury with a good strike from just inside the box. On 35 minutes a quick attack from Bury saw George Quantrell pass the ball across the box for Max Maughn who had a chance to shoot but chose to play the ball back into the center of the box, but the ball was cleared by the visitors. Bury had another chance on 38 minutes when Max Maughn put a good cross into the box and Ollie Canfer volleyed the ball just over the bar. George Quantrell went close again on 45 minutes when he hit the post and the loose ball fell kindly straight into the keepers’ hands.

Second half it was backs to the wall for Bury as Halesowen gave it their all to get something from the game. Fin Holmes powered forward and into the Bury box on 49 minutes and his simple pass found Ty Barnett and his shot was deflected straight to Charlie Beckwith. On 57 minutes a corner played in to the Bury box was headed just over the bar by Ty Barnett. Another Halesowen attack on 61 minutes saw McKauley Manning’s cross into the box headed just over the bar by Jason Cowley. On 63 minutes Jason Cowley put a shot just wide of the far post. On 67 minutes McKauley Manning found Jason Cowley in the box and his shot was saved by Charlie Beckwith. Todd Parker saw his strike on 69 minutes saved well by Charlie Beckwith and Taylor Parr was there to tidy up at the back for Bury. On 81 minutes a goal mouth scramble in the Bury goal saw players flying in from all angles but somehow Bury kept the ball out. On 83 minutes Bury went on the offensive with Mikey Davis crossing the ball to the far post for Max Maughn and his header was collected by Daniel Platt. On 87 minutes Mikey Davis went close when his shot from distance went just wide of the far post. Bury almost grabbed a third goal in added time when Mikey Davis had his strike cleared off the goal line by Jak Hickman. A tough second half for Bury as Halesowen dominated much of the half but Bury defended with confidence and determination to keep them out and take another huge three points at the final whistle.
