Bury Town suffer first Isthmian League defeat of the season but remain in 2nd place

Bury Town lost their unbeaten tag on Saturday afternoon as Tilbury left the Denny Bros Stadium with all three points, a slow start costing the Blues.

Bury found themselves 2-0 down in the first half hour but pulled a goal back through Ryan Jolland just before half time to give them hope, but despite being camped in the Tilbury half for the second 45 minutes, they could not force an equaliser despite several attempts.

Results elsewhere saw the Blues remian in 2nd place as the other sides around the play off places also tasted defeat.

Ben Chenery now has two cup games to focus his attention on as Bury welcome Felixstowe & Walton United to the Denny Bros Stadium on Tuesday in the Suffolk Premier Cup, kick off 7:45pm, before we travel to Soham Town Rangers next Saturday in the Preliminary Round of the FA Trophy.
