Sudbury travel up the A134 to the Denny Bros Stadium in the Isthmian League

The season may only be a month old, but Bury Town face AFC Sudbury tonight in the A134 derby at the Denny Bros Stadium in the Isthmian North Division.

The two sides traditionally clash around Christmas and Easter but its an early season meeting for the two clubs tonight, in a rivalry that pre-dates AFC Sudbury's formation in 1999 when we used to face Sudbury Town in both the Eastern Counties League and the Southern League.

Its a game that both sets of supporters want to win more than any other and last season both clubs tasted success on their opponents ground, with AFC winning 3-2 at the Denny Bros Stadium on New Years Day and the Blues taking all three points in a thrilling 4-3 win at the King's Marsh on Easter Monday of this year.

With the table in its very early stages, the Blues have started the better with 3 wins and 2 draws from our opening 5 games, while AFC have lost 3 of their opening 5 games and are in 14th position.

It will be a quick chance for Ross Crane (pictured above) to face his old team mates as he moved from Sudbury to Bury in the summer to join Ben Chenery's side. Kick off is at 7:45pm.
