Rangers take their chances to progress to the next round

Bury Town crashed out of the FA Trophy on Saturday at Soham Town Rangers as the hosts won 3-0 to progress to the next round.

The hosts took an 11th minute lead, but the first half was largely dominated by the Blues who missed several chances and also found home goalkeeper Josh Pope in inspired form to keep the Blues out.

As Ben Chenery's side looked to get back on terms in the second half they were left open at the back and Soham took full advantage of this to put the game beyond doubt with two further goals in the last quarter of the game.

Tuesday evenings scheduled game away at Maldon & Tiptree in the Velocity Trophy has been postponed so the home side can prepare for their upcoming FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round match so the next fixture will be away at Felixstowe & Walton United on Saturday 19th October, kick off 3:00pm.

Other Bury Town sides in action this week see the Development Team travel to Barking in the Bluefin Development League on Thursday evening, kick off 7:45pm at Mayesbrook Park, Lodge Avenue, Dagenham. The Under 18's are also in action on the same evening when they travel to the Unwin Ground to take on Ely City in the Thurlow Nunn Youth league, kick off also 7:45pm.
