Bury Town welcome Cambridge City to the Denny Bros Stadium in the Isthmian League

Bury Town have a quick chance to bounce back from their FA Cup exit on Saturday with another home game as the Blues welcome Cambridge City in the Isthmian North Division.
After a disappointing home Cup exit at the hands on Histon on Saturday, Bury must look to put that behind them and build on their solid league start of 4 points from their opening 2 games. Bury have defeated Basildon United and drawn at Witham Town in the opening week of the season, and Cambridge City have had a similar return with a win at Tilbury and then a 1-1 draw at home to Dereham Town.

The two sides have met many times in the past, mainly in cup competitions over the years, and Cambridge City were the visitors to our old Kings Road ground for our first ever floodlit fixture back on Monday 12th January 1953, a game that drew a crowd of 2,105.

City, along with their landlords Histon were moved to the Isthmian League for the first time ever in the summer after playing in the Southern League for most of their history, including a long spell in the Conference South before ground grading regulations saw them controversially demoted.
