Meet the Players and Management of Bury Town FC for 2019-20:


MANAGER – BEN CHENERY:
Ben became manager of the Club in June 2014 after spending 2 years as Assistant Manager. He previously has managerial experience with Chelmsford City and has played professional football for Cambridge and Luton, as well as playing for a host of top flight non-league clubs, and is best remembered for scoring the winning goal for Canvey Island in the 2001 FA Trophy Final at Villa Park.

DANIEL BARDEN D.O.B 02-01-2001:
18 year old Daniel has joined us on loan from Norwich City for the 2019-20 season and replaced the departed Luis Tibbles as number 1. He was previously with Arsenal before joining Norwich and has played in the FA Youth Cup and the Under 18’s Premier League.

JOE CARDEN D.O.B 18-03-1997: Joe joined Bury Town from Soham Town Rangers in February 2019 after two years with the Greens. He has previously played for St Ives Town and Histon and is an attacking wide player with lightning pace.

JAKE CHAMBERS-SHAW D.O.B 1-11-1997:
Jake joined Town in the summer of 2018. The attacking midfielder played for Mildenhall in the Bostik North last season where he made 35 appearances and scored 7 times. Prior to joining Mildenhall Jake was with Cambridge United and Histon. An exciting player who creates and scores goals.

ROSS CRANE – D.O.B - 29-07-2002: Highly rated midfielder Ross joins from local rivals AFC Sudbury, with the 17 year old predicted to have a bright future in the game. Progressed through the Sudbury academy last season to earn his own place in their first team. He turned down the chance of training with a professional club last season to remain with AFC, but now joins the Blues for 2019-20.

OLLIE FENN D.O.B 24-11-1988: Joined on a month’s loan from Needham Market in February 2016 but made the permanent switch last summer. Ollie previously played for Ipswich Town Academy and Irish Premier League side Galway United and at 28 is one of the more experienced members of the squad.

WILL GARDNER D.O. B 12-01-1998:
Defender Will has re-joined from Soham Town Rangers after a couple of seasons representing the Greens in the Isthmian North. He previously had a short spell with us after leaving Haverhill Rovers in the Eastern Counties League and after a couple of years more experience at Soham in this division he is a valuable addition to the side for 2019-20.

TAYLOR HASTINGS D.O.B 15-09-1991 - 27 year old Taylor will bring some much needed experience to our back line this season. After re-locating to Bury he joined the club after playing for Harlow Town last season in the Isthmian Premier. He has also represented Enfield Town, Heybridge Swifts, Leiston and won promotion with Felixstowe & Walton.

JOE HOOD – D.O.B 06-09-1997: 21 year old Joe joins the Blues after playing with St Neots Town in the Southern Premier Division last season. He started his career with Peterborough United before going on to represent Mildenhall Town, St Ives Town and then St Neots last season. Can play in either midfield or defence.

RYAN HORNE D.O.B 02-11-1995: Midfielder Ryan was with AFC Sudbury last season and started his career with Cambridge United. He has also had spells with Soham Town Rangers and experience of step 3 at St Neots Town in the Southern League. He joined Sudbury from St Neots in December 2017 and made 21 appearances for them in the Bostik North last season.

OLLIE HUGHES D.O.B 11-02-1987: A striker who had great success at Walsham-Le-Willows before joining Leiston and then AFC Sudbury. He signed for the Blues after a year working abroad and was supporter’s player of the year for the last three seasons in a row, certainly a fans favourite at his home town club.

RYAN JOLLAND D.O.B 20-09-1996: A young midfielder who started out with the Ipswich Town academy before joining our partnership academy at West Suffolk College.

JOHN KENNEDY D.O.B 19-08-1978:
John signed for the Blues in the summer of 2011 from Cambridge City and is the longest serving player at the club. John started his career at Ipswich Town and was a big part of the successful Histon side and also played a big part in Canvey Island’s successful rise up the pyramid. He is First Team coach this season.

CEMAL RAMADAN D.O.B 02-01-1997:
Cemal re-joined the club is early November 2018 after a short spell with Leiston. He was our leading goalscorer last season with over 30 goals which caught the eyes of many clubs higher up the pyramid, however he is now back at Ram Meadow and looking for goals again.

RYAN STAFFORD D.O.B 29-06-1991: Ryan joined ahead of the 2018-19 season after two years in Australia. He had previously played for Woodbridge Town and Hadleigh United and is the son of former Bury player Clive Stafford.

JOE WHITE D.O.B 17-10-1996: Another player who has progressed through the West Suffolk College academy scheme, a strong central defender who has worked his way into the team over the last couple of seasons and now a regular name on the team sheet.
