Background:Bury Town will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Maldon & Tiptree when they welcome 4th placed Aveley to the Denny Bros Stadium on Saturday afternoon for their 4th consecutive home game. The Blues had been on a good run before the re-arranged game with Maldon midweek where three goals in the final 16 minutes of the game saw the points head south to Park Drive.
Aveley are yet to win a single game on their previous visits to Ram Meadow, so will be looking to correct that statistic on Saturday afternoon. The Millers will have ambitions of promotion this season after settling into their new Parkside ground, and have certainly started the season well enough to make that a realistic target. October was a successful month for the Millers, with 3 wins from 4 games, the only blemish on that record was a League Cup defeat to Cheshunt. Their last outing saw them progress in the FA Trophy at the expense of Dunstable Town.
Last season we met Aveley at home on the 16th September and drew 0-0 in wet conditions, neither side really looking like winning. The return match was our first at Aveley’s new Parkside ground in late January and in front of 281, a goal from Ryan Cosson was enough for Aveley to take the points with a 1-0 victory, although Bury put a poor first half behind them to come back strongly in the second period.
Injury News: Bury Town captain Ollie Fenn returns from suspension, however influential midfielder Ryan Horne sits out with a one game suspension.
Last time out: 20/1/2018: Aveley 1 Bury Town 0 - Attendance 281
