Blues 'keeper takes part in ambassadorial FA visit to Falkland Islands

Luis Tibbles is returning home after representing the Football Association and England in an ambassadorial visit to the Falkland Islands over Remembrance Weekend.

The Bury Town goalkeeper who is now in his second season with the club was selected to be part of the England squad by England C manager and former Barnet and Stevenage boss Paul Fairclough as a representative side made up of players from steps 3 and 4 of the Non-League game.

The travelling party took part in two matches while on the islands, on Saturday the FA XI beat the Falklands Islands side 3-1 and then on Saturday the England side were again victorious, by defeating a British Forces side 3-2 on Remembrance Sunday after attending a special memorial service.

His 7,900 mile trip to the South Atlantic Ocean means that Luis has missed the Blues games away at Tilbury and he will miss the Suffolk Premier Cup match at Hadleigh United, but he is expected to return for the home match with Coggeshall Town on Saturday 17th November.
