Bury Town claim local bragging rights with 3-0 home victory

Bury Town manager Ben Chenery could not hide his delight at his sides performance in the 3-0 home win over Mildenhall Town at the Denny Bros Stadium on Saturday afternoon in front of a 432 strong crowd.

A rapid start to the game from the Blues saw them 2-0 ahead after 20 minutes thanks to goals from Ryan Jolland and captain Ollie Hughes, and that set Bury on the way to three valuable points.

Ben had to say "I was delighted with the way the players started the game and continued that throughout the 90 minutes. Their attitude and desire was spot on and the early goal allowed us to go on and control the game in the way we wanted to"

"There was some pressure on us today as the home side, much had been made of our difficulty in scoring goals, and the fact that Mildenhall were the joint leading goalscorers in the division, so it was great to get a clean sheet, and to take our chances when they came along. We defended from the front and scoring twice in the first 20 minutes helped put us in command and we didn't look back from that"

"Some of the players have now set the standard that they must reach every week. There was several good performances from our players today and I am proud of them. We now have a week to work on a few things before we take on Tilbury next week at home, and I'll be looking for more of the same"
