Match Preview:
Bury Town will travel to the east coast of Suffolk for their first outing in the Bostik League North division. The 2018-19 season has quickly come around after last season`s 9th place finish, and this will be the Blues 4th season in the division after relegation from the Premier Division. A late surge towards the play off`s last season gave some hope, but it was too little too late in the end. There have been a number of changes to the squad over the summer with Ben Chenery revamping his side. Coming into the club are Ryan Gibbs, Ryan Horne, Jake Kerins, Jake Chambers-Shaw and Gareth Simpson, the last three all joining from Mildenhall Town.

Bury travel to Dellwood Avenue to face a side taking part in their first ever game in the Isthmian League. Felixstowe & Walton United were formed in 2000 and have faced the Blues in their early days, we also faced Felixstowe Port & Town back in the Eastern Counties League. The Seasiders finished last season in 2nd place behind Coggeshall Town and earned their promotion to Step 4 as runners up. They have added a few new faces to their existing squad with Jack Spurling joining as goalkeeper from Ipswich Wanderers, Jack Ainsley joining from Leiston and Rhys Henry signing on from Maldon & Tiptree. They will no doubt be looking to hit the ground running in their new division and will be pleased with a home game to start the campaign.

The last two matches between the sides have both taken place in the Suffolk Premier Cup. Bury have won them both, winning a penalty shoot-out in 2015 at Dellwood Avenue after a 3-3 draw, and the year before Bury defeated the Seasiders 4-1 in the final to claim the trophy for the 13th time.

Bury Town boss Ben Chenery will have been very pleased with how pre-season ended for his side, with a good 3-1 win at home to last season`s Bostik North champions AFC Hornchurch last weekend. Ben had to say "Pre-season has been good for us. We have added players with experience to the squad, and we will be better for it. We`ve been working hard on the system we want to play. Friendlies are good for fitness but most players want to get into the real season when results count and three points is the aim. Felixstowe is a tough game for us to start with, but we know this division well, and don`t fear anyone. Our home form was good last season, and the away form needs to improve, so we hope to get off to a good start on Saturday"

On the player front, the Blues have a full squad to choose from, apart from Ollie Fenn, who is serving a three match suspension for his sending off in last season`s Suffolk Premier Cup final at Portman Road. He will miss the matches with Felixstowe, Romford and the FA Cup match at Waltham Abbey.
