Match report | Preview
Despite a spirited second half fightback, Bury Town failed to overcome a three goal interval deficit to lose by the odd goal of five on Tuesday evening at The Abrahams Stadium.
The game was only eight minutes old when Murat Karagul found space on the edge of the Bury box and fired a great shot into the top corner that Marcus Garnham could only get a fingertip to.
Eight minutes later the lead was doubled when Karagul headed home a long free kick by Gary Burrell. Karagul completed his hat trick on 27 minutes with an almost identical goal, another header from a Burrell free kick.
Wingate and Finchley dominated most of the play and it wasn`t until the final few minutes of the half that Bury got into the game.

Half Time: Wingate and Finchley 3 Bury Town 0

Bury came out fighting in the second half and reduced the arrears after only three minutes when good work by half time substitute Billy Clark led to Danny Cunningham firing into the roof of the net.
On 56 minutes Bury were awarded a penalty when Lee Reed was pulled down in the box, but Bobby Smith easily saved Billy Clark`s spot kick.
Bury continued to attack and were rewarded on the hour when Lee Smith`s free kick from near the touchline curled into the far top corner of the net.
Lee Reed came close as Bury continued to press for an equaliser, but they were unable to find a finish, and as the half progressed the hosts looked more than capable of holding onto their lead.
