Match report
Bury Town go through to the next round after fiery encounter

Bury Town made it through to the FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round after two tough games against Chalfont St Peter. Bury were first to go close on 8 minutes when a free kick put deep in to the box fell at the base of the post and Jack Mullan had to be quick to clear the ball out of danger. On 24 minutes Bradley Barber put a corner in to the box which bounced around before the defence managed to clear the ball up field. In the next attack from Bury, Tevan Allen showed great skill on the wing and getting to the edge of the box but the move broke down and the ball was cleared. Allen was involved again on 28 minutes for Bury linking up well with Cemal Ramadan but again the defence broke up the move. Bury went close again on 37 minutes when another dangerous corner in from Barber fell to Allen in the box and Allen let rip with a powerful strike on goal that was saved on line by the alert keeper. Bury made the breakthrough just before the break with Kyran Clements rising up in the box to get on the end of a Barber free kick into the box and he headed home to give Bury the lead at the interval.

Half Time: Chalfont St Peter 0 Bury Town 1

Bury started the second half well and were soon on the attack, on 47 minutes Ryan Jolland worked the ball in from the wing and put a cross in for Noel Aitkens in the box which the keeper initially saved but them dropped the ball and Aitkens was a whisker away from getting the ball first but for the quick reactions on Carl Dennison getting the ball at the second attempt. Things got worst for Chalfont on 52 minutes when half time substitute Jake Cass was shown a straight red card for an off the ball incident. Bury kept pressing forward and on 56 minutes went close again after Barber put a free kick in to the far post for Joe White but he put the ball the wrong side of the post from a tight angle. The game started to get disrupted by more and more free kicks as the half went on but Bury were starting to make the extra man count and on 83 minute a dangerous ball in to the Chalfont box was dropped by the keeper and fell kindly for Aitken on the edge of the box and after composing himself smashed the ball past the embarrassed keeper. Two minutes later it was three with Barber putting another beautiful cross in for Cemal Ramadan to head home past the keeper. The game ended on a sour note with tempers high a dangerous tackle on Bury’s Bradley Barber tipped the balance and a full-scale fight broke out on the pitch and saw Luke Maguire and Ryan Lewis sent off for violent conduct for Chalfont and swiftly followed by Noel Aitken for Bury. A disgraceful and shameful end to what had been two very competitive games.
