Bury Town fall to their fourth consecutive defeat

Two stunning goals were not enough for Bury as Bowers punished every Blues mistake. Bowers hit the ground running with a goal after just 4 minutes with a well worked goal from a cross headed home by John Easterford. On 7 minutes Bury had a chance to pull level with Bradley Barber crossing into the box for Tevan Allen to head just over the bar. A mistake in the midfield from Bury saw James Thomas in on goal but Luis Tibbles made a good save. On 25 minutes Cemal Ramadan put a decent cross in to the box for Ollie Hughes but Hughes couldn’t steer the ball home with his head. On 27 minutes David Knight found space and got in to the box, shooting low Tibbles saw down well to collect the ball. Bowers should have doubled their lead on 41 minutes but Callum Lethy put his shot wide from close range.

After the interval Bowers waisted no time in getting forward and scored their second goal on 46 minutes in their very first attack. Lewis Manor getting in to the box and shooting low past Tibbles. A double strike from Bury on 49 minutes saw Callum Chafer make two good saves first from Ryan Jolland and the follow up from Cemal Ramadan. Bowers went further ahead on 70 minutes with a delightful chip over the keeper from Lewis Manor with Tibbles way off his line. With the game looking out of sight Bury pressed forward and got their reward on 72 minutes, a simply exquisite curling strike around the keeper and in to the top corner from Ramadan. Bury were taking control of the game late on and on 75 minutes a superb dipping strike from outside the box from Darren Mills gave the keeper no chance as it flew in to the back of the net. with bury on top they were hit with the sucker punch on 89 minutes with Tibble rushing out of his goal a mistimed challenge from the Bury keeper left David Knight with an open goal to kill the game off at 4-2. Four straight defeats now for Bury but Bowers are flying high as they strengthen their second place position.
