six quality goals as Haringey take the points

Both sides showed great class in what turned out to be a pulsating game. Bury were on the back foot early on when Haringey took the lead with just 5 minutes on the clock. A cross in to the box found its way to Michael Ademiluyi who hit a sweet volley past Bury keeper Luis Tibbes. In the next attack is was Bury on the break and a ball over the top played Darren Mills in on goal but a good save from Austin Byfield kept Haringey in front. A lively Ademiluyi show lighting pace down the wing on 9 minutes but his shot from a tight angle was never going to worry Tibbles. Bury found themselves further behind on 24 minutes when a perfect corner in gave Lawrence Yiga a simple header past the Bury keeper. With things looking bleak heading toward half time Bury won a free kick in the D and Cemal Ramadan hit a delightful curling free kick inside the far post giving Byfield no chance. Bury had halved the deficit and just before the break Bury pulled level with another great attack and Darren Mills smashed home the equaliser.

The second half continued to swing one way then the other. Bury has a good shout for handball in the box on 59 minutes when Mills shot struck the arm of a defender but the Ref waved play on. On 62 minutes Ollie Hughes and Cemal Ramadan broke forward for Bury but a poor pass saw the move breakdown. On 64 minutes a shot from Hughes hit the base of the Haringey post and Ramadan made the follow up shoot but Byfield’s quick reactions kept Bury out. Haringay went back in front with a simply stunning strike from Anthony McDonald. Picking up the ball out on the wing and turning inside McDonald let fly from some distance and the ball rocketed past Tibbles and in to the top corner. The game was end to end and on 73 minutes Hughes got in to the box for Bury but shot wide of the far post. Haringey made the game safe on 83 minutes when they were awarded an obvious penalty after a poor tackle from behind from Bury and Derek Asamoah made no mistake from the spot. With no way back for Bury the game ended in victory for Haringey but Bury are improving with every game and the fans witnessed six quality goals from a very entertaining game.
