Blues secure first win in 11 games

Bury Town brought the winning feeling back to Ram Meadow as they took the win over local rivals. Soham had the better chances first half as Bury rarely worried Soham keeper Josh Pope. Soham went close on 4 minutes with Lewis Clayton g wide from close range. A good link up between Ryan Jolland and Ollie Hughes on 9 minutes for Bury saw Hughes shot blocked in the box. Joe Carden had Bury keeper Luis Tibbles scrambling back in to his box to collect the ball on 12 minutes. Cemal Ramadan broke down the wing on 27 minutes but could not find Hughes with his cross in to the box. A quality through ball from Clayton found Craig Gillies through on goal for Soham but Gillies went just to early as the offside flag ended the move. A free kick for Bury on 36 minutes from Jolland was headed high over the bar by Kyran Clements on 36 minutes. Carden lobbed a good ball over the Bury defence on 40 minutes and found Gillies in on goal but again the offside flag put a stop to the attack. On 43 minutes a half chance for Bury saw Tevan Allan hit a low drive which Pope did well to get down to save.

Second half was much better from Bury. On 46 minutes Hughes broke in to the box but sent his shot high over the bar. On 50 minutes is was Soham who went close, Carden hitting a venomous shot just over the bar from distance. Bury made the break through on 57 minutes with Jolland putting a corner into the back post for Allen who had got around the back to head Bury in front. another corner for Bury on 69 minutes was headed wide of the far post by Clements. Tommy Robinson put a good corner in the box for Bury on 71 minutes and Ramadan strike was saved brilliantly by Pope who just managed to tip the ball over the bar. With Bury struggling to hold a lead of late it was not long before Soham pulled the game level. A defensive error let in Graig Gillies who lobbed Tibbles who was off his line and in to the empty net on 73 minutes. On 76 minutes Soham should have gone in front but for a superb block from Tibbles with his feet from Carden who was clean through on goal. Bury grabbed the winner on 79 minutes with another set piece. A free kick from Robinson was tucked inside the far post by the head of Hughes to fire Bury back in to the lead. Noel Aitken almost added a third for Bury on 95 minutes after getting though on goal but a block from the feet of Pope saw the game to an end. Bury take their first win in 11 game and bring the winning feeling back to Ram Meadow.
