A Hard-fought game from both side ends in a stalemate

Bury Town had the better of the play and the chances to take the win but were kept out by a sturdy Bowers & Pitsea defence. Tevan Allen force a save out of Bowers keeper Callum Chafer as early as the first minute. Chafer doing well to tip the ball past the post. Ollie Fenn headed wide on 5 m9nutes for bury from a Bradley Barber free kick. On 18 minutes Bowers had a good chance to go ahead. A free kick fell to John Easterford but he put his shot wide. Bury thought they had taken the lead on 20 minutes when a quick free kick was headed home by Cemal Ramadan only to be pulled back by the Ref for being taken too quickly. Ramadan had another opportunity on 22 minutes, getting in to the box well but shooting over the bar, Bury had a good shout for a penalty on 28 minutes when Ollie Hughes was brought down in the box but the Ref was not impressed and waved play on. Tony Stoke went close for Bowers on 30 minutes, getting in to the box but shooting wide. with neither side being able to find a good finish the half ended all square.

Second half Bury continued to press from the start. On 51 minutes a chest down from Hughes in to the path of Ramadan inside the box was fired just over the bar. Barber put a dangerous free kick in to the far post for Bury on 53 minutes but Fenn running in at the far post missed the ball from a very tight angle. On 70 minutes Ollie Hughes broke down the wing and got into the six-yard box but his shot was blocked. Tevan Allen broke forward for Bury on 74 minutes and got himself into a good passion on the edge of the box but his powerful strike was blocked by the defence. On 76 minutes Ryan Jolland hit a full on strike which Bowers keeper Callum Chafer did well to palm wide. Bury were struggling to break through the Bowers & Pitsea back line and with the visitors determined not to give anything away the chances in the game were few and far between as the games ended in a stalemate and the points shared.
