Ten man Bury Town fight to the end to snatch the win

Bury were made to work all afternoon by a determined Romford side. Bury made the early play and on 3 minutes Cemal Ramadan was played in to the edge of the box by Bradley Barber but Ramadan skewed his shot wide. on 5 minutes Ramadan again got the ball in the box but his shot was blocked by the head of Sam Mvemba. Romford had a great chance on 9 minutes with Greg Akpele breaking through the middle but was stopped by a brilliant tackle from Kyran Clements. On 12 minutes another chance for Romford came when a long ball in to the box was collected by Vladut Sighiartau on the edge of the box but his soft shot was easy for Bury keeper Luis Tibbles to catch. Tevan Allen had a lively afternoon and was in the action on 15 minutes, working the ball down the wing he chipped a ball in to the box for Darren Mills to head towards the top corner, but Romford keeper Michael Gooch made the save. Joe White got forward for Bury on 26 minutes and tried his luck from long range, putting his shot just wide of the far post. Bury went down to ten men on 33 minutes when a miss timed tackle from behind from Darren Mills on Sam Mvemba saw him receive a straight red. Things could have got worse for Bury on 376 minutes when a superb turn and strike from Chris Taylor in the box when a whisker past the far post. Half Time: Romford 0 Bury Town 0

Bury reshuffled at half time and Jed Wigley made way for Ollie Hughes. Bury had to adjust quickly as Romford came out attacking and on 49 minutes got themselves in front with a quick and slick attack. Building from the back a beautiful through ball to Substitute Craig Jeaking put him one on one with the Bury keeper, with Tibbles rushing out to block the shot Jeaking showed a cool head as he slipped the ball past Tibbles and in to the empty net. Noel Aitkens now out wide when on a run down the wing for Bury on 54 minutes and put a good cross in for Hughes in the box but the keeper read it well and collected the ball. Another chance for the Blues came on 62 minutes with Ramadan getting to the edge of the box but shot just over the bar. Romford should have gone two up on 72 minutes when Sighiartau was clean through on goal, but Tibbles was out like lightning to put the pressure on and made a great stop. Hughes powered through in to the box from out wide and past two defenders and on into the box and put a pass in for Ramadan but again the shot was blocked. Bury were fighting hard and kept going and got the equaliser on 79 minutes. A ball in to Ollie Hughes found the Bury danger man in on goal with just the keeper to beat and he did just that, slotting his shot past the advancing keeper. Bury were finding their game late on and got their reward from a stunning low driven shot from Tevan Allen. Allen picked up the ball outside the box and hit the winner on 90 minutes for a hard fought out victory having played for an hour with ten men.
