Match report
Honours even in this Ryman Premier League fixture although Wealdstone will feel they dropped two points in their push for a play-off place. 1-0 up after a cracking strike from Chris O’Leary in the 8th minute they dominated the first half in which Bury completed failed to get a grip on the game. Richard Jolly uncharacteristically missed two guilt edges opportunities to extend the visitors lead but with only the goalkeeper to beat scuffed his first shot and then ballooned his second over the cross-bar. Bury were restricted to long range efforts which failed to trouble Ashlee Jones in the Wealdstone goal.

Half Time Bury Town 0 Wealdstone 1

The well organised and disciplined defence and midfield continued hold the advantage over their Bury counterparts. As the game went on the home side did manage to force the game into the opponents half but struggled to find the telling ball into the box.
After combining well with Kieran Leabon, Lee Smith produced a good save from the Wealdstone keeper in the 75th minute. As Bury pushed forward in search of an equaliser Lee Reed couldn’t quite connect with John Sands excellent ball across the six yard box. From the resulting corner Bury equalised. A deep cross from Lee Reed evaded everybody except the Wealdstone centre back Alan Massey who turned the ball into his own net.
Bury will be the happier side with this result as they remain in the play-off places while Wealdstone’s out-side chance has diminished further.
