Bury Town suffer another setback as Haringey take the win

Bury Town failed to build on the result in their last game after putting in a decent performance this time out. Blues leaking defence was the difference between the two side and early chances for the home side saw Dean Fenton hit the bar on 2 minutes. Fenton turned provider on 11 minutes, breaking down the right wing and putting in a pacey cross into the six-yard box which was too strong and beat everyone. Blues first chance came on 14 minutes with Regan Pelling putting in a high cross deep into the box which dropped just high over the crossbar. Bradley Barber carved out an opportunity for Bury shooting from outside the box sent his shot spinning wide on 17 minutes. Bury found themselves behind on 18 minutes when a poor clearance fell to Scott Durojaiye on the wing and his cross in was perfect for Fenton to smash home. Bury pressed forward from the restart and Josh Mayhew put Pelling in on goal only to fire high over the bar. Haringey doubled their lead on 20 minutes when Bury failed to clear their line and Fenton was in on goal to grab his second goal. Ollie Hughes saw his strike block saved by the keeper on 26 minutes to deny Bury. Haringey almost got a third goal on half time Anthony McDonald through on goal but a brilliant sliding tackle from Andrew Cusack cleared the ball.

The third goal killed the game off but Bury kept going Regan Pelling got into the box for Bury on 50 minutes but his shot was saved by Harry Palmer. On 64 minutes Ollie Hughes beat his marker and powered in to the box but the defence made the block tackle. Bury keeper Neil O’Sullivan kept Haringey out on 71 minutes saving down low after Fenton put Durojaiye in on goal. Bury gave the ball away on 75 minutes to Fenton in the box but Fenton shot swerved wide. Bury Substitute Luke Read tried to give the travelling fans something to cheer about on 90 minutes when he broke down the wing and put a good cross in for another Bury Substitute Noel Aitkens but the defence read the move well and intercepted the cross. Haringey took the three point in a comfortable win in the end and Bury must except another defeat and another setback in their hopes to chance their recent form.
