A quick Bury attack on 18 minutes saw Ryan Jolland cross in to Tevan Allen who played an intelligent low flick in to the box but the defence managed to clear the ball. A free kick from Burys Bradley Barber went inches over the bar on 19 minutes. Waltham had a clear chance on 26 minutes when clever through ball from Michael Spencer to Jack Daveney beat the Bury defence but he pulled his shot wide with just the keeper to beat. On 28 minutes Barber put a good ball in from a corner for Remi Garrett to shot from inside the six yard box but James Pellin made the save. Bury had a penalty shout on 43 minutes when Remi Garrett broke in to the box and was pushed in the back close to the goal but the official missed it and gave the goal kick.
