Injury time winner sees Bury slump to four defeats in a row
Bury Town suffered another defeat and put another dent in their playoff hopes. A game of too many missed chances and hit and hope balls lead to an un-entertaining game for the spectators. After a scrappy first 15 minutes Waltham had the first good chance with Ruaridh Kay putting a cross in and Spencer Harrison hitting a spinning shot from close range but spun wide of the post. A quick Bury attack on 18 minutes saw Ryan Jolland cross in to Tevan Allen who played an intelligent low flick in to the box but the defence managed to clear the ball. A free kick from Burys Bradley Barber went inches over the bar on 19 minutes. Waltham had a clear chance on 26 minutes when clever through ball from Michael Spencer to Jack Daveney beat the Bury defence but he pulled his shot wide with just the keeper to beat. On 28 minutes Barber put a good ball in from a corner for Remi Garrett to shot from inside the six yard box but James Pellin made the save. Bury had a penalty shout on 43 minutes when Remi Garrett broke in to the box and was pushed in the back close to the goal but the official missed it and gave the goal kick.

Bury came out second half on the attack, straight from the kick off Ryan Jolland played a great through ball to Luke Read on the spot and a thumping shot from Read was blocked well by Sam Robbins who sent the ball out for a corner. From the corner, Bradley Barber put the ball in for Kyran Clements to head a foot over the bar. Waltham defended well to keep Bury out and were matching Bury all over the pitch. On 61 minutes Waltham though they had taken the lead after a good attack got though Burys defence and Greogory Moorse hit a great strike in to the back of the net only to be ruled out for offside. another chance for Waltham a minute later saw Jack Daveney shoot wide. neither side could get hold of the game and a succession of long hopeful balls from both sides made chances few and far between. Darrelle Russell fired a shot wide for Waltham on 72 minutes and a late rally from Bury saw the Blues have more possession but little end result. With Bury desperately trying to grab the win the inevitable late goal gave Waltham a well-earned victory. Russell broke down the wing a put a fantastic long cross in to Russell who broke through the middle and chipped Neil O Sullivan and the ball hit the post before the follow up from Waltham substitute Ajani Carrington grabbed the win with a tap in close to the goal line on 93 minutes. Waltham battled hard all game and took the points at the final whistle. As for Bury they suffer their fourth defeat in a row and make things more difficult for their playoff hopes.
