Bury Town slip up as Cheshunt take a comfortable win
Bury Town slipped to their first defeat in 6 games as Cheshunt took a worthy three points. Bury got off to a slow start and the home side didnâ€™t waste any time to go on the attack. On 7 minutes Thomas put a cross in for Jason Hallett in the box but Hallettâ€™s shot spun off his book and went wide. Hallett had another chance on 9 minutes again getting clear in the box but Bury keeper Neil Oâ€™Sullivan got down well to save. Bury were defending deep and on 10 minutes Cheshunt took the lead. Hallett picking up the ball in midfield showed quick feet to go through the Bury backline and in on goal to put his shot through Oâ€™Sullivan and in the back of the net. Bury barely had chance to settle before Cheshunt went two up on 13 minutes. A free kick from Bruno out on the right gave an unmarked Joe Kizzi an easy header past Oâ€™Sullivan. Bury dug deep and started to get back in to the game. on 17 minutes Tevan Allen and Noel Aitkens linked up well in midfield and put a good cross in which Leon Ottley-Gooch was a inch away from heading in at the far post. A great chance for Bury came on 25 minutes a good attack from Bury saw Ollie Hughes break forward and beat the keeper only to have his shot cleared off the line. Hallett had a chance to make it three on 29 minutes but for a great block save by Oâ€™Sullivan. Bury pulled a goal back on 37 minutes from a corner, Remi Garrett putting the ball in for Tom Debenham to head on to Luke Read who headed home.

Cheshunt continued to press Bury all over the pitch second half and had a great chance to extend their lead on 54 minutes Jason Hallett with a shot inside the six-yard box which Neil Oâ€™Sullivan save well. Buryâ€™s best chance of the half came on 62 minutes Remi Garrett got down the wing and put a great cross in to the six-yard box but Bury substitute Josh Mayhew could only head over the bar. Another Bury substitute Andrew Cusack tris to get Bury back in the game on 63 minutes with a determine break down the wing and in on goal but his good effort went just wide of the far post. On 84 minutes Cusack got down the wing again and found Noel Aitken just outside the box who hit a solid strike that was defected out of play. Bury were pushing to get back in the game but Cheshunt soaked up the pressure and finished strong. on 89 minutes a free kick from Hallett saw Oâ€™Sullivan tip over the bar. The goal of the game came on 90 minutes and killed of the game for Bury. A stunning strike from wide on the right from Liam Hope sailed past Oâ€™Sullivan and in off the far post. A fitting end to a game that gave Cheshunt a worthy win.
