Battling Bury break their poor run of form and take all three points

Bury Town get back on track with a battled though against a solid Brentwood side. A scruffy start to the game was brought in to focus by Bury on 10 minutes when Bradley Barber put a corner in deep and Ollie Hughes was on hand to stab the ball home from close range. Another good build up from Bury saw Luke Read fire a shot just wide of the far post on 13 minutes. Bury gave away a penalty but Neil O’Sullivan made the save from the spot from Brentwood’s Matty Hall on 18 minutes. Hall hit a free kick inches wide of the near post on 22 minutes for the visitors. Andy Freeman who had been a live wire for most of the half went through the bury defence on 30 minutes but hit his shot wide. Brentwood did pulled level on 33 minutes when Freeman again got through the Blues defence to set up Andy Greenslade to grab an equalizer. On 37 minutes Bury broke forward on 37 minutes and Luke Read got on the end of the move but smashed his shot against the crossbar. Darcy Death got down the wing on 43 minutes for Bury and chipped a ball in for Ollies Hughes but the quick reactions of the keeper saw him get to the ball first.

The game continued to swing from end to end second half but a stunning chip from Remi Garrett on the visiting keeper from an impossible angle beat the keeper and crept inside the near post to give Bury back the lead on 58 minutes. An opportunity opened up for Luke Read on 63 minutes and he found Ollie Hughes in the box but again the quick reactions of the keeper stopped the danger. Neil O’Sullivan pulled of an incredible double save to keep Bury in front on 79 minutes. Ryan Jolland got Bury’s third goal on 81 minutes after some great work from Sam Reed to give Jolland a tap in. Brentwood finished the game with 10 men after Shad Ngandu was shown a second yellow for a dangerous tackle. Bury rode their luck at times but went on to take the win and the three points much to the relief of the home supporters who have witnessed only two wins from the Blues throughout November but Bury get December off to a great start.
