Two cheap Goals cost dominant Bury another three points
Another disappointing night for Bury Town, poor defending and poor finishing from the home side saw Heybridge hold out to take the win. Bury dominated most of the game and were in front after 10 minutes. A long throw in from Darcy Death was headed home by Ollie Hughes close the six-yard box. The lead did not last long as Reece Grant took advantage of poor Bury defending and struck his low strike past Neil O’Sullivan in the Bury goal. on 19 minutes Bradley Barber played a corner deep in to the box which lead to a scramble to get the ball close to the goal line but the defence managed to get the ball clear. Barber went close on 29 minutes after Luke Read found him control of the box but Barber curled his shot wide. Josh Mayhew got on the end of another long throw from Death on 34 minutes only to head straight at the keeper. Bury had the chances to get back in front but against the run of play it was Heybridge who took the lead on 41 minutes. Nicholas Brown worked the ball forward and hit a shot from distance which was straight at the Bury keeper but he missed his catch and the ball ended up in the back of the net. Heybridge should have been down to 9 men at the end of the half. First Guillem Ramon made a vicious challenge on Hughes from behind and in the aftermath of pushing and shoving one of the Heybridge players threw a punch at Tevan Allen. After a lot of debate the Ref issued just one yellow card to Ramon and every Bury fan in the ground was stunned by his decision.
