Late goal from Sam Reed secures the points for Blues.

Bury Town left it late to take the win and continue to put the pressure on the teams around them at the top of the Ryman Division 1 North. Both sides had early chances with Tevan Allen hitting the side netting in the first minute after a great cross in from Josh Mayhew. On 6 minutes Jeremiah Maja chip a shot over the Bury keeper but went just over the bar. Maja had another chance on 19 minutes working the ball in to a good position bur his powerful shot when over the bar. Neil O’Sullivan had to be at his best on 26 minutes when a solid strike from Jordan Peart almost gave the visitors the lead but O’Sullivan made a great save. Another chance for the visitors came on 31 minutes when Billy Coyne broke down the wing and played a dangerous ball across the face of goal but it beat everyone and went out of play. With few chances in the first half Bury went close and should have scored on 34 minutes when Josh Mayhew crossed deep to Tevan Allen at the back of the box but his shot was an easy save for the keeper. On 37 minutes A Bradley Barber free kick broke to Mayhew just on the edge of the box but Mayhew shot flew over the bar. Aveley did have the ball in the net on 41 minutes only to be ruled offside.

Second half Bury had more possession and were soon making chances. on 56 minutes a Darcy Death long throw in to the box which went all the way through beat the keeper but went inches wide of the far post. Andrew Cusack crossed a good ball in the box on 60 minutes but Mayhew could only head over the bar. Sam Reed put a brilliant cross deep in to the box on 64 minutes straight at the feet of Tevan Allan but missed the target. Luke Read had a shot just over the bar on 72 minutes. Bury substitute Remi Garrett set up Tom Debenham to head over the bar on 77 minutes. With the game looking to be heading for a goalless draw Bury made the breakthrough and grabbed a late winner on 83 minutes with Bradley Barber putting his corner over the keeper and the ball was deflected to the head of Sam Reed who headed into the back of the net. Aveley were to finish the game with 10 men when Adalberton Pinto was shown a second yellow. Bury Town took the points and keep the pressure on those teams fighting it out for a very tight top spot.
