Match report
Bury Town youngsters more than hold their own

Bury Town rested key players ahead of the top of the table clash on Saturday and the youngsters brought in went toe to toe with a full strength Lowestoft side. Lowestoft started on the attack and on 4 minutes Jake Reed had a good chance getting on the end of a good long pass in to the box but the striker went down under a soft challenge which did not impress the Ref who waved play on. Bury Town’s Daniel Hammett broke down the wing on 7 minutes but his cross was too long for Tevan Allen in the box. Hammett again broke down the wing on 15 minutes, this time Hammett’s cross was caught by the keeper. Two minutes later Ryan Jolland played a great ball through the center which was just to long for Allen to run on to. Lowestoft took the lead on 22 minutes from a corner which found Travis Cole unmarked to fire home. Luke Read then had a chance to pull Bury level on 28 minutes, after a skilful take down Read hit a good strike which went inches wide of the far post. Ryan Jolland equalized for Bury on 38 minutes, picking up the ball in midfield Jolland went on to find an opening and hit a sweet low strike from distance which flew past the keeper.

Three minutes later Ryan Yallop’s long throw in was perfect for Hammett in the box but the ball got stuck under his feet and again the defence cleared it. On 54 minutes Bury made the break through and took the lead, this time it was Tevan Allen who went on a run through the center and hit a blistering shot past the keeper from outside the box. Lowestoft reacted well to going behind and started to play with more urgency. On 60 minutes a good attacking move from the home side saw Rossi Jarvis head against the bar before Michael Spillane scored the goal of the game with a sweet volley from out wide which beat the Bury keeper and hit the back of the net. The game was end to end for the remainder of the half but it ended all square at the final whistle. Into extra time and the Bury youngsters were showing some tired legs and Lowestoft started to take control. With just three minutes on the clock the home side took the lead. A cheap free kick from Bury which lead to a scramble in the box and the ball broke to Reed who couldn’t miss. Another free kick saw Cole get this second and to finish of a flattering score line Joel Glover grabbed the home sides fifth goal.
