Bury Town make it through to the FA Trophy First Round proper.

Bury Town are in the draw for the next round of the FA Trophy after a 4-2 victory against Thurrock. Bury took the lead early in the first half when James Paterson fired in a free kick by the corner flag for Ollie Hughes to head home. The goal sparked Thurrock into life and they controlled the remainder of the half. Bury defended well but rarely got into the final third as Thurrock kept the pressure on. Bury held out until injury time when Michael Toner got the better of the Blues defence and slotted his shot passed the Bury debutant keeper Duncan McAnally.

Second half Bury came out fighting and were soon back in front, on 52 minutes Noel Aitkens heading Bury back in the lead from a corner with a fine header across goal. Things got even better for the Blues when they were awarded a penalty when Kamal Duncan was judged to have blocked a shot with his arm and Cemal Ramadan netted Bury`s third from the spot, Rhys Madden saving the penalty only for Ramadan to score from the rebound. Bury were in control by this point and scored their fourth from Captain Phil Weavers with another header in from a corner. Thurrock pulled a goal just before the final whistle when Toner scored his second with a low shot across the keeper which found the bottom corner on 95 minutes.
