Match report
New signing Josh Mayhew hat trick helps Bury to first win in seven games.

Bury Town recorded their first win since November with a hat trick for debutant Josh Mayhew. Bury were ahead on 14 minutes. Mayhew heading in his first goal for the Blues after a great cross in from Remi Garrett. Bury’s second was a repeat of the first with Garrett setting Mayhew up again to head home on 22 minutes. Haringey’s afternoon got worse with the harsh dismissal of Dewayne Clarke for what the Ref deemed a dangerous sliding tackle on Bury captain Phil Weavers on 29 minutes. ollie Hughes had a great chance to get his name on the score sheet on 40 minutes but put his shot wide. The visitors grabbed a goal back on 43 minutes with a good cross in from Anthony McDonald for Dean Fenton to strike in to top corner. Two minutes later Bury restored their two goal advantage with another headed goal this time from Ollie Canfer after Ollie Hughes battled down the wing to get his cross in to Canfer.

Half Time: Bury Town 3 Haringey Borough 1

Not long after the restart Garrett made a powerful run down the wing and found Hughes with a pass who in turn found Mayhew who was on hand to tap in at close range to complete his hat trick on 49 minutes. After a couple of scares at the back which included Neil O’Sullivan saving down low on the line Rakim Richard did pulled another goal back for Haringey with a free kick on 55 minutes. Cemal Ramadan and Daniel Hammett came off the bench to team up in a great pass and move which ended in Ramadan’s powerful shot slipping under the keeper and crawling across the line for Burys fifth. Fenton got his second goal and completed the afternoons goal feast on 92 minutes with a looping header which beat the Bury keeper. Bury get back on track and look to have made a very promising signing in hat trick hero Josh Mayhew who was subbed on 87 minutes to a rapturous round of applause from the home fans.
