A strongly contested match ends all square at North Road in a game of two halves.
Bury Town and Brightlingsea Regent fought out a 2-2 draw at North Road. Bury were 2-0 ahead at the break with goals from Phil Weavers and Bradley Barber but Regent fought back to draw 2-2. After an even start to the half Bury got on top and took the lead with a little help from Brightlingsea keeper Andrew Plummer. Phil Weavers hit a solid shot which was at first saved by Plummer but the power in the shot caused him to lose the ball and he could only watch as the ball continued on into the back of the net. Bury controlled the remainder of the half and went two goals up on 33 minutes, Ollie Hughes breaking through the defence and with just the keeper to beat unselfishly set up Bradley Barber who scored off the inside of the post.

Second half Brightlingsea were much more competitive took the game to Bury. Remi Garrett had a chance for Bury early on has he continued to dominate the left wing, losing his marker again Garrett broke down the wing but scuffed his shot and it ended up an easy save for Plummer. Brightlingsea pulled a goal back on 53 minutes from a free kick just outside the box. Jake Turners cracking the free kick against the bar and the ball falling kindly to Luke Milbourne who hit the back of the net. Bury continued to push forward as did Brightlingsea which made for an end to end half. Brightlingsea got the equaliser from the spot after a handball in the box. Turner stepped up and hit it straight down the middle as Nick Punter dived to his right. The game finished all square, Bury will feel its two points dropped but overall in a game of two halves a draw was a fair result.
