Match report
Bury secure their first away win of the season in a seven goal thriller at the Prospect Stadium.

Blues but in their best attacking performance of the season so far and were ahead after just 2 minutes, Connor Hall picking up the ball outside the box and hitting a blistering shot into he top corner. Remi Garrett almost doubled Burys lead on 14 minutes when his curling shot hit the bar. Seconds later John Sands hit a thundering left foot strike from distance past Canvey keeper Tim Brown to put Bury two up. Canvey pulled a goal back on 22 minutes, Taylor Tombides working his way through the Bury defence and putting his shot passed Alex Archer. Joe Benjamin nearly restored Burys two goal lead on 28 minutes with a curling effort which Brown did well to save. On 31 minutes Canvey were level, Tombides working his way though the Bury defence again and beating Archer for a second time. An entertaining half ended all square.

Canvey started the second half on the attack from the start and it was not long before the home side took the lead. Taylor Tombides completing his hat-trick on 59 minutes, scoring from a tight angle. Bury struggled to get out of their half as Canvey kept pressing forward. Bury found their second wind midway through the half as they got back on the attack and were awarded a penalty on 77 minutes as Jordan Patrick worked his way into the box and was brought down by Canvey Substitute Dan King. Connor Hall stepped up, smashed the penalty passed Brown to pull Bury level and bagged his second goal of the game. Bury went back in to the lead on 80 minutes, Joe Benjamin breaking down the right wing, getting in to the box and firing in a shot which was saved well By Brown only to rebound out to Remi Garrett who netted Burys Fourth goal. Canvey threw everything at Bury for the last 10 minutes as they tried to get something from the game but Bury held firm until the final whistle. Bury start the new year with their first away win of the season and three vital points as their fight for survival continues.
