Match report
Honours even in bottom of the table clash

Bury Town came from behind to end their long run of 8 defeats and take a point back home to Suffolk. Both sides had a chance a piece to take an early lead. First Conner Hall had an opportunity for Bury with just 4 minutes on the clock, Remi Garretts ball in found Hall in the box but lack of control saw his shot go harmlessley out of play. 2 minutes later VCD had a chance, Aaron Jefferys shot from close range was blocked well by Bury keeper Alex Archer. Archer made another great block on 20 minutes saving a well hit shot from Mikhail Kennedy. On 42 minutes Joe Benjamin broke through the defence, got into the box but miss hit his shot. Blues best chance of the half came right on half time, an in-swinging cross into the box was met by a powerful header from Connor Hall which was heading in to the top corner but for a great save by VCD keeper Nick Blue who got a hand to it at full stretch and pushed it against the bar.

Bury took the game to the home side after the break but found themselves behind on 55 minutes. Nick Reeves heading home at the far post from a deep free kick. Bury kept pushing forward, showed plenty of grit and determination to get something from the game. Blues got their reward on 69 minutes. Joe Benjamin picking up the ball on the right of the box and shooting through a crowd of players to find the back of the net. Bury had a chance to take the lead on 74 minutes. Bury substitute Chris Benjamin setting up Phil Weavers whose curling shot went millimetres wide of the top corner. Connor Hall had another opportunity to put Bury in front on 85 minutes when he broke through on goal only to hit his shot straight at the keeper. Bury had a nervous end to injury time with the dismissal of Russell Short for a second yellow but the game ended all square at the final whistle.
