Match report | Preview
Superb performance by Garnham helps Blues secure their first away point.

Marcus Garnham was in fine form on Monday night pulling off a string of first class saves to help Bury earn a 0-0 draw. Both defences were tested from the start. On 6 minutes Justin Millers cross in from the right was headed just wide by Steve Holder, 10 minutes later a Russell Short cross in found Holder in the box but his headed effort was easy for K’s Keeper Rob Tolfrey. Pacey winger Alex Addai cross field pass was picked up by Andre McCollin, his shot going high over the bar on 17 minutes. On 35 minutes Nathaniel Pinney low strike was met with a diving one handed save by Garnham to keep the scores level. Addai caused Bury problems down the right wing throughout the half and Kingstonian looked dangerous with every attack but the Bury defence stood strong.

Kingstonians all-out attack at the start of the second half almost paid off on 48 minutes when Pinney threaded a pass through the Blues defence to McCollin in the box but his shot hit the far post. Garnham was called in to action again on 60 minutes saving a well hit low struck shot from Pinney. Bury soaked up the pressure and were on the attack again on 70 minutes Miller curling in a cross which was just too high for Holder to get on to in the box. Garnham made a stunning double save on 75 minutes, first saving a blistering shot from McCollin from just outside the box then recovering instantly to save the follow up shot from Substitute Elvis Hammond from close range. An exciting game came to an end without a goal, both teams attacked and defended well throughout the game. Bury won their first away point on the road and sent the travelling Bury supporter home happy.
