Blues beaten by Colchester United

Bury Town were beaten 3-0 by Colchester United on Saturday afternoon as Ben Coker made a return to his former club with the League One side. Brian Wilson opened the scoring for the U's on 44 minutes, but the home side had played their part in an end to end half. Colchester proved too strong in the second period and Bury were pushed back into their half for much of the 45 minutes. Colchester's second goal of the game came after 52 minutes when John-Joe O'Toole hooked home after a shot came back off Marcus Garnham's cross bar. Steve Gillespie made it 3-0 after 64 minutes.
Despite the scoreline, assistant manager RIchard Skelly, who was in charge of the side, will be able to take some positive points from the game. Bury will now travel to Ridgeons League Premier Division side Dereham Town on Wednesday 27th July for their next pre-season action. Dereham are one of the favourites for success in the Ridgeons League this season, so the Blues will have their work cut out if they are to regain winning ways. The action kicks off at Aldiss Park at 7.45pm and your support will be most welcome.
