Bury Town Rams
Bury Town Rams FC were formed nearly 20 years ago. They have played in the St Edmundsbury Saturday Football League for their entire history, initially as Shepherd and Dog FC, and later as Rising Sun FC and Tollgate Inn FC.
The Rams have had periods of success, as well as lean spells, however the teams overall goal has always been to enjoy the game of football and offer a chance for players of all abilities to get a run out on a Saturday afternoon. This philosophy, coupled with a shared love of a good night out, have led the club to retain several players for ten or more years. One player, veteran Jason Utting, has been a mainstay since the teams inception.
To that end 5 years ago the club formed a Reserve side, which continues to thrive and flourish to this day. Both teams enjoyed a successful season this year. The first team, managed by Jordan Marlow, were St Edmundsbury Football League Division 2 Champions and runners up in the League Cup. The reserves had a good end to the season and manager Mark Clifford led them to a third placed finish in Division 3. The Club looks forward to a bright future as part of the Bury Town Family.
