Fire at Ram Meadow

As has been reported elsewhere, a fire broke out at Ram Meadow on Thursday, around 4pm. The groundsman shed along with all the clubs equipment has been destroyed. The side of the main stand and the home team dugout have also been damaged by the fire but thankfully the quick reactions of the fire brigade stopped the fire spreading any further. Had the response not been so quick, it is likely that the main stand could have been lost.

The club will be speaking to their Insurance company on Friday morning to discuss the damage. As a result of the fire, the club have lost all the pitch maintenance equipment including mowers, line markers, sprinklers and goal nets. New equipment will be sought for Monday morning so that the match with Braintree Town will go ahead as planned on Tuesday 17th July.
